Emerson Named Lead Donor for Normandie Reimagined with $7M Commitment

Emerson Named Lead Donor for Normandie Reimagined Project

Transforming Historic Normandie Golf Course into Hub for
Community and Youth Development

ST. LOUIS (November 12, 2025) – Emerson, a global industrial technology leader headquartered in St. Louis, has been announced as the lead donor with a $7 million commitment to the Normandie Reimagined project, a transformative redevelopment of the 124-year-old Normandie Golf Course in North St. Louis County. This revitalization effort will create a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design public course and will become a hub for youth programming and community development, expanding access and opportunity for local youth and residents. As a result of this investment, the facility will now be known as Normandie Golf Club at Emerson Park.

“We are proud to invest in a project that will create lasting impact for young people and families in St. Louis,” said Lal Karsanbhai, president and CEO of Emerson. “The Normandie Reimagined project is about more than just golf. It’s about expanding equitable access, fostering community and skills development, and building a brighter future for our city.”

A New Hub for Youth and Community Impact
The Normandie Reimagined project will help to break down barriers through the game of golf and a variety of community-based programs. Upon completion, Normandie Golf Club at Emerson Park will host a wide range of youth development and community initiatives built around four key program pillars:
  • Youth Empowerment: Golf-centered learning and leadership programs that build character, confidence, and life skills – preparing youth to become strong contributors to their communities.
  • Technology and Education: Year-round STEM and digital literacy programs that are designed to close the technology gap and expand educational opportunities for local youth.
  • Community Engagement: A treasured community space that fosters connection, celebrates local history, and strengthens pride across North St. Louis County.
  • Support for Heroes: Programs and partnerships that honor veterans and first responders – offering healing, camaraderie, and well-being through the game of golf.
These four pillars will be brought to life through partnerships with The First Tee of Greater St. Louis, the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Caddie Program, Urban Golf, and many other community organizations. These collaborations will provide mentorship, employment, and educational opportunities that engage and empower thousands of young people each year.

“Emerson’s leadership and generosity make our vision possible,” said Tom O’Toole, Jr., past President of the United States Golf Association and founder of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association who is leading the effort. “Together, we are not only preserving a historic landmark, but also transforming it into a dynamic resource for the community and its next generation.”

The project is being spearheaded by the Metropolitan Golf Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization and the philanthropic arm of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association in partnership with community development leader, Beyond Housing.

Construction began in November 2024. A soft opening of nine holes and initial programming is expected in early Summer 2026. Additional facilities and larger scale community programming phases will follow. Learn more at normandiereimagined.com.
