Metro Cup Playoffs: Field of 36 down to 12 teams
The season long Metropolitan Cup Championship completed Regular Season play yesterday with Bellerive and Kirkwood Forest GC wrapping up their division. The playoff brackets were completed this morning and playoffs will commence immediately.
Thirty-six clubs participated in the 2013 Championship, with 9 divisions competing in pool-play to decided a 12-team playoff bracket. Division winners were determined and three wild-card teams have advanced. The top 4 seeds will all receive a Round 1 bye. The top 4 seeds were Whitmoor Country Club; Glen Echo Country Club; Quincy Country Club and Norwood Hills Country Club. Defending champion Old Warson Country Club did not advance out of pool-play this year.
The playoffs will begin immediately and the bracket looks like this. The higher seeds will be home clubs in Round 1 and Quarterfinals. Semifinal and Final matches will be played at neutral club sites.
