Moloney Medalist; 4 locals qualify for US Mid-Am
Ted Moloney fired a 1-under 69 today to capture medalist honors in the 2013 US Mid-Amateur Qualifying at Forest Hills Country Club. Moloney had 2 birdies and a bogey on his card.
Skip Berkmeyer was the next best score on the day with a 1-over 71. The final two qualifiers were a couple Norwood Hills members, Phil Caravia and Patrick Britt came in at 72 to earn trips to the Mid-Amateur.
Ryan Eckelkamp and Dan Emrick would playoff at 73 for the alternate positions. Eckelkamp made birdie at hole 1 for the 1st position.
The Mid-Amateur will be conducted October 5-10 at the Country Club of Birmingham.
