Quarterfinal Matches Set for 2021 Sobbe Cup

St. Louis, MO – The Thomas O. Sobbe Cup Playoffs are well underway with eight teams remaining in the quest for the 2021 title.

Westborough Country Club No. 1, the defending champions, face a tough test in Bellerive Country Club’s first team in the quarterfinals. Bellerive took down Final Four host, Algonquin Golf Club in the Round of 16.

St. Clair Country Club upset the No. 1 overall seed, Joachin Golf Club and face Old Hickory’s second team in the quarterfinals. St. Louis Country Club meets Greenbriar Hills Country Club’s first team on the left side of the bracket.

Whitmoor Country Club and Spring Lake Country Club’s second team play to see who faces the winner of Westborough/Bellerive.

The remaining eight teams will have two weeks to play their quarterfinals matches before the Final Four on September 24th at Algonquin Country Club.

The Thomas O. Sobbe Cup is a year-long competition between Member Clubs of MAGA. Teams are comprised of 8 players from each club, 7 amateurs and 1 professional.

Each round, Regular Season and Playoffs, there are 6 matches contested: A Professional Match, 2 Singles Scratch Matches, 1 Singles Handicap Match, 1 Senior Four-Ball Handicap Match and 1 Four-Ball Handicap Match.
