2024 Championship Schedule Announced
St. Louis, MO - As we enter the 32nd season for the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association, we are proud to announce the Championship Schedule for 2024. Each year, we strive to provide the best championship experiences for our members, and this year will be no different. With 15 Championships, 8 USGA Qualifiers, and the Amateur Series, we have a packed schedule for you to enjoy.
There are a few changes that should be noted this year. Starting with the Metropolitan Junior Amateur Championship: it will now consist of a 54-Holes stroke-play format. This will allow for our Championship to be recognized as an Official World Golf Amateur Ranking event, and hopefully in a few years time, allow for our Junior Champions to have an exemption into the US Junior and US Girls’ Junior Amateur Championships under the new USGA qualification and exemption procedure. The US Amateur Qualifying is also seeing a change in qualification procedures this year as it turns to a two part - Local and Final - qualifying stage, much like the US Open. We will be host to the Final Qualifying stage for the US Amateur this year and will alternate between hosting the Local and Final Stage each year (i.e. 2024 Final, 2025 Local, 2026 Final, and so on).
