GHIN modifies procedure
for combining nine-hole scores
Effective January, 1 2008, all nine-hole scores will be combined on the GHIN Enterprise Server. This procedure is different from past years where scores were combined l
ocally on the club computer.
The change means the modifications will include transmittal of any and all nine-hole scores, including those posted at the club where the player receives a Handicap Index.
Because all nine-hole scores will be combined on the Enterprise Server, GHIN will “always” display the most recent nine-hole score posted at a player’s club at the bottom of the Score History display. Only the most recent nine-hole score will appear in Score History, regardless of whether or not that nine-hole score has been combined.
Once the nine-hole scores are transmitted, the GHIN Enterprise Server (GHIN’s national database) combines and returns the combined score during the same transmission.
We apologize for any confusion or concern this change of policy may have caused for golfers who have historically posted nine-hole scores for their 18-hole handicap.
