CHAMPIONSHIP

Eligibility

Entries are open to amateur female golfers who will have reached their 50th birthday by September 1, 2007 and have an up-to-date Handicap Index® not exceeding 18.4 under the USGA Handicap System™. A Handicap Index must be issued from a “golf club” (as defined in the “USGA Handicap System” manual) which is licensed to use the USGA Handicap System. If you are a transgendered individual, please refer to the USGA policy and entry application procedures for transgendered individuals at www.usga.org/championships/transgendered or contact our legal department at (908) 234-2300 for the additional entry application procedures. Any player seeking a golf cart on behalf of her caddie due to disability may only submit a written entry and may not file an entry via the Internet (see Transportation). Players requesting permission to use items on the List of Equipment permitted conditionally for medical reasons, please refer to www.usga.org/equipment/medical/general_guidelines.html for details

Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the USGA. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.

Age: All players are required to list their ages and dates of birth on all USGA entry forms.

Amateur Status: All players must conform with the “USGA Rules of Amateur Status” as specified in “The Rules of Golf.”

Entries: Form, Fee, Closing Date

All players, including those exempt, must complete an entry application (form attached). Players may also file online at the USGA website (www.usga.org) or download the form for mailing. Only players for whom blank entries are filed by the USGA as noted in the section on exemptions will not be required to submit entry applications. Only one entry may be filed per player. The USGA reserves the right to disqualify anyone who submits more than one entry.

Entry fee of $125 must be paid by every player. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if the USGA (908-234-2300) is notified before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of injury or illness, if requested by September 1. No refund for any reason after September 1. A $30 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

ENTRY APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY USGA NO LATER THAN 5 P.M. E.D.T. on WEDNESDAY, JULY 11, 2007.

Online entry applications can be completed at www.usga.org/champs/apply. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, telegraph or FAX are not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at USGA (not time entry is sent to USGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the USGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.

Schedule

Competition will be in three stages:

1. Sectional Qualifying- 18 holes stroke play for all except exempt players listed herein. Schedule inside.

2. Championship-132 players eligible, including exempt players.

(A) STROKE PLAY -36 holes stroke play to determine 64 qualifiers for match play. All sectional qualifiers and exempt players must compete. A tie for last qualifier's place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1: First round, 18 holes.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2: Second round. 18 holes.

(B) MATCH PLAY - General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by the order on the public scoreboard summary and by performance in the play-off. All matches at 18 holes.

Monday, September 3:	A.M. First Round, 18 holes.
Tuesday, September 4:	A.M. Second Round, 18 holes. P.M. Third Round, 18 holes.
Wednesday, September 5:	A.M. Quarterfinal Round, 18 holes. P.M. Semifinal Round, 18 holes.
Thursday, September 6:	A.M. Final Round, 18 holes.

In event of a tied match. (a) the winner will be determined immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won.

Prizes

CHAMPIONSHIP

WINNER: Gold medal and custody of the Senior Women's Amateur Championship Trophy for the ensuing year, subject to such conditions as the USGA may establish.

RUNNER-UP: Silver medal.

OTHER SEMIFINALISTS: Bronze medals.

LOWEST QUALIFYING SCORER: Bronze medal; if a tie, duplicate medals will be rewarded.

NO OTHER REMUNERATION: By her application, the player acknowledges that she is not entitled to remuneration of any kind for participation in the Championship other than prizes above.

SECTIONAL QUALIFYING

LOWEST SCORER IN EACH LOCATION: Silver medal; if a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded.

Rules of Golf; Close of Competition

Play will be governed by “The Rules of Golf” as approved by the USGA. Questions will be settled by the on-site Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The result of each match is deemed to be officially announced when the result has been posted on the public scoreboard by the Committee. The competition is deemed to be closed when the Championship trophy has been presented.

Golf Balls; Driver Heads

Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. These lists are updated and may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Technical Department at (908) 234-2300. The so-called "One-Ball Rule," the optional condition prescribed in “Appendix I” of “The Rules of Golf,” will be in effect.

Footwear

It is a condition of the competition, including at all qualifying sites and the Championship proper, that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION.

Caddies

Qualifying Rounds - A player may provide her own caddie. If she wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, she should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.

Championship proper - A player may provide her own caddie. If she wishes to have a caddie provided to her by the host club, she must complete the information as outlined in the Memorandum to Players which she will receive once her eligibility for the Championship is confirmed.

A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

Transportation

Automotive transportation is permissible for players only during Sectional Qualifying rounds and during any stage of the Championship proper. However, the USGA reserves the right to suspend such automotive transportation due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances. Caddies must walk at all times during a stipulated round. PENALTY: See penalty clause for breach of the condition on transportation prescribed in “Appendix I” of “The Rules of Golf.”

Any player seeking a golf cart on behalf of her caddie due to a disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should log onto www.usga.org/champs/ada or contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 to obtain information on procedures for submitting such requests. All such requests and required information must be submitted to the USGA simultaneously and together with the original entry application in writing, and received by the USGA no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Facsimile, phone or on-line submissions not accepted. Requests due to temporary injuries or impairments that do not qualify as a permanent disability under the ADA will not be granted. In the event of a change in medical condition subsequent to submission of entry application, written submission of all documentation must be received by USGA no later than 7 days before event. Cart availability for caddies during any stage of the Championship are available only for those who are ADA-qualified and who have complied with the above procedures.

Time of Starting

The optional condition for time of starting prescribed in “Appendix I” of “The Rules of Golf” will be in effect.

Publicity and Promotion; Broadcasting

The USGA may arrange for (i) promotion of the Championship, for radio and television broadcasting and other exhibition and publication of the Championship or excerpts thereof in various media, including so-called "online" or "new media" and (ii) the design, manufacture and sale of merchandise which commemorates or memorializes the Championship throughout the world. By this application, the player consents to the use by the USGA, or persons authorized by the USGA, of her name, likeness, voice and references to her and photographs and other images of her and her play connected with her appearance in the Championship, or any portion(s) thereof, in connection with such media promotion, broadcasting and other exhibition and publication of the Championship and design, manufacture and sale of commemorative merchandise. The USGA may utilize the rights granted it hereunder in connection with the promotion and/or commemoration of the 2007 Championship as well as future Championships, other USGA Championships and the USGA.

The cooperation of players with authorized representatives of the media is required, provided that no pre-Championship activities outside of those activities which are part of the Championship will be required and provided that the player's Championship play is not unreasonably interfered with.

Registration at Sunriver Resort

By 2 p.m. on THURSDAY, AUGUST 30, eligible players must:

1. Register in person at Sunriver Resort; or

2. All players arriving late should notify the Championship Administration office at the USGA (908) 234-2300 (if before August 24). After August 24, please contact the USGA Director of the USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship. (Please see Memorandum to Players for contact information.) Place may be forfeited by a player from whom no word is received by 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 30.

Location; Transferring

Players' preference for Sectional Qualifying location must be designated on the entry. If a Sectional Qualifying location has more players than can be accommodated, some players may be transferred to another location and the date for qualifying may be different than the original requested date. Transfer will be based on the date of receipt of entry application. Transfers are final. No qualifying site is final until after entries close.Transfer from one qualifying location to another is not permissible after entries close.

Qualifiers' Places; Ties; Substitutions

The number of qualifiers' places in each location will be determined by the USGA after entries close, based on size and playing quality of the field.

A tie for last qualifier's place or an alternate's place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

Substitutions in order of qualifying scores will be allowed for qualifiers unable to compete in the Championship.

If a Sectional Qualifying location cannot fill its qualifiers' places, or if an exempt player withdraws, the place made available will be reallotted to another location. A reallotment schedule will be prearranged by the USGA.

If a player withdraws before playing a stroke in the Championship proper, a substitution is allowed. Only the USGA may make such substitutions.

Alternates have no status at the Championship.

Acceptance of Places; Notice of Withdrawal

On the day of Sectional Qualifying, every qualifier should notify the Official in Charge whether she will play in the Championship.

If a qualifier or exempt player withdraws, she must notify the USGA (908-234-2300) promptly in order to insure an alternate fair opportunity to play. Failure to comply may result in disqualification from future USGA competition.

Exemptions

Players in the categories listed on the exemptions page will be eligible for exemption from Sectional Qualifying, if otherwise eligible. Exempt players who wish to participate in the Championship must file an entry. *(NOTE: The USGA will file blank entries for those players who become exempt after the close of entries.)

Practice Privileges; Accommodations

Privileges of Sunriver Resort are extended to qualified players in the Championship on Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31.

Information concerning accommodations will be provided to qualifiers upon completion of Sectional Qualifying. Exempt players will receive this information from the USGA office.

Players' Dinner

Thursday, August 30, 6:30 P.M. - The USGA cordially invites all players to a reception and dinner to be held at Sunriver Resort.

Conditions; Schedules

The USGA Championship Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules herein. The decision of the Championship Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.

Personal Appearance; Sectional Qualifying and Championship Proper
