The 2012 MAGA Championships, USGA Qualifying Round and Amateur Series schedules are very near completion. Visit the COMPETITIONS page above for the dates that are confirmed, and visit back often for updates as we complete the 2012 schedules.

Entries for MAGA Championships and Amateur Series will be available on 3/15/2012. USGA Championship entries will begin the first week of March and will be linked to those Championships via the site as they are available from the USGA.

2012 PJ BOATWRIGHT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WITH MAGA

MAGA Will Offer Two Internships Through USGA Grant

MAGA will again offer internships available through the PJ Boatwright Internship Grant program with the USGA in 2012. Two internships will be available, a 5-month and a 3-month opportunity.

In 1991, the USGA established the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internship Program. This program is designed to give experience to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in golf administration, while assisting state and regional golf associations, as well as other non-profit organizations dedicated to the promotion of amateur golf, on a short-term, entry level basis.

2011 PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Awards Night/Spring Kickoff - Wednesday, March 7 at Norwood Hills CC

As announced a couple weeks ago, MAGA is excited to unveil a new program to recognize our 2011 Players of the Year. Wednesday, March 7th at Norwood Hills Country Club, MAGA will celebrate the 2011 season and preview the 2012 season. The evening will consist of an hour of drinks and hors d'oeuvres and then go into the program to recognize our 2011 award winners, host clubs and our Meritorious Service Award winner Carol Fromuth!

The 2011 Players of the Year are: Men's - Skip Berkmeyer; Senior Men's - Jeff Johnson; Women's - Ellen Port; Senior Women's - Tina Jones.

The cost of the evening will be $37.50 per person. The cost includes an hour long buffet beginning at 6:00pm with beer, wine and soda included. After 7:00pm a cash bar will be available.
