Dodds, Delsing poised to advance to Stage 3
St. Louisan Trevor Dodds followed up a first-round 67 with a 71 to stand at T13 through two rounds of the PGA Tour Q School's Stage 2 qualifying at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
Dodds, a former PGA Tour winner, is attempting to earn a return to the Tour for the 2009. A top 20 finish this week will allow him to advance to Stage 3 qualifying at PGA West Dec. 3-8. All golfers advancing to Stage 3 will have some status on either the PGA or Nationwide Tours.
Another PGA Tour veteran from St. Louis, Jay Delsing, currently straddles to the cut line after rounds of 68-71-139 at Callaway Gardens.
Two other St. Louisans are attempting to advance in The Hombre Golf Club in Panama City, Fla. -Adam Betz (72-72-144) and Bob Gaus (78-69-147). Each is currently outside the cut line and will need strong finishes to move on to Stage 3.
St. Louisan Jay Williamson, who finished 137 on the 2008 PGA Tour money list with $758,862 in earnings, will be in the Stage 3 field in California.
