Mobil recogizes eight, 5-Star golf properties for 2009
Mobil Travel Guide has put its 5-star stamp on eight golf properties for 2009, including facilities on the South Carolina coast all the way to the island of Maui, and points in between.
The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island (S.C.) Golf Resort and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., were among resorts receiving the 2009 Mobil Five Star Award, the organization announced recently.
Mobil Travel Guide, which has been rating hotels and restaurants since 1958, bases its ratings on unannounced inspections. Among the critieria that must be met to achieve Five Star status are: “exceptionally distinctive luxury,” “consistently superlative service” and “anticipation of guests’ every need.”
Sea Island, Ga., placed two golf properties on the list: The Cloister at Sea Island Resort and The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club.
Other golf properties awarded Five Stars were:
– The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Fla.
– The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, Fla.
– Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Hawaii
– The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas
In addition, the spas at The Cloister, The Sanctuary, Wynn Las Vegas and St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, Calif., also received Five Star awards.
