2011 US WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING

Five ladies qualified for the 2011 US Women's Amateur Championship Wednesday at Stonewolf Golf Club. The 2011 US Women's Amateur will be played at Rhode Island CC August 8-14.

All give qualifiers were from outside of the St. Louis region. Crystal Reeves (Broken Arrow, OK) was medalist and only golfer of the 43 who teed it up to finish under par, she had a 3-under par round of 69.

Three ladies had even par rounds of 72. Ashley Armstrong (Flossmoor, IL); Allyssa Ferrell (Edgerton, WI) and Gianna Misenhelter (Overland Park, KS) were the next 3 qualifiers. The fifth and final qualifier was Amelia Ek (Cypress, CA) who had the lone 73 on the day.

Two locals did survive the play-off for the Alternate spots. Catherine Dolan and Sky Seo each shot 74 on the day and were one of 4 at 74 who were around for the play-off to determine alternate spots. The play-off lasted just one hole as Dolan chipped in for birdie 3 and Seo made a par.
