Tom O'Toole, Jr., was congratulated
for the recent news of his nomination to the USGA's Executive Committee. The appointment makes O'Toole the first St. Louisan in nearly 40 years to ascend the highest ranks of the the United States Golf Association. O'Toole has served as Executive Director of the MAGA since its founding in 1992 and has been involved in USGA affairs since 1988. Since 2004, he has served on the USGA Rules of Golf Committee. He has been influential in securing national events for St. Louis clubs, including the 1996 Women's Amateur Public Links (Spencer T. Olin), 1999 Amatuer Public Links (Spencer T. Olin), 1999 USGA Mid-amateur (Old Warson), 2001 U.S. Senior Amateur (Norwood Hills), 2001 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur (Fox Run), 2004 U.S. Senior Open (Bellerive), 2007 U.S. Junior Amateur (Boone Valley), and the upcoming 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur (Old Warson) and 2009 USGA State Team Championship (Country Club of St. Albans). O'Toole joins the likes of Hord Hardin and George Herbert Walker as St. Louisans who have served on the USGA Executive Committee.
