Moloney, Berkmeyer move on to U.S. Mid-Amateur
Ballwin's Skip Berkmeyer (Norwood Hills, right) fired a 2-under par 138 to win the U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying in Milwaukee. Clayton's Ted Moloney (Fox Run, left) also advanced, posting 
a 146 at Milwaukee Country Club and Brown Deer Park Golf Course. After impressive first-round wins, both St. Louisans were ousted. Berkmeyer lost 1 down to Chris Lange of Bryn Mawr, Pa. Moloney lost 6 and 5 to Jim Dunlap of Tigard, Ore. Bloomington, Ill. golfer Todd Mitchell, who frequently competes in St. Louis qualifiers, advanced to the finals before dropping a 5 and 4 decision to Steve Wilson of Mississippi.
